Artsplosure's mission is to produce high quality annual festivals that celebrate excellence in the performing and visual arts; to promote and bring recognition to national, regional, and local artists; and to bring artists and the larger community together to improve the quality of life and cultural environment.
Artsplosure was conceived in 1978 by subcommittees of the newly formed City of Raleigh Arts Commission who were planning a citywide arts festival that would combine an "explosion" of art activity with people's "exposure" to all types of art. The following year, Artsplosure was incorporated to produce high quality and accessible arts festivals and to identify, nurture, and showcase artists seeking to reach wider audiences. Since its first festival in April 1980, Artsplosure has presented thousands of established and emerging artists whose works span across many disciplines and art forms in both traditional and non-traditional indoor venues and outdoor settings.

Our organization was founded in 2005 under the name ME³ (motivate, educate, empower, and engage). ME³ was launched following a two and a half month cross-country road trip during which co-founders Amber Smith and Heather Leah conducted random acts of kindness and volunteered with a variety of causes in over 20 states. Along the journey, they discovered that many they met were very interested in volunteering, but didn’t know how to get started. At the same time, nonprofits had a great and consistent need for more volunteers to help them serve and improve the communities they worked in. This experience inspired the friends to found ME³ to close the gap between those who wanted to help out but didn’t know how, and those causes that needed volunteer help from more people in the community.

Alliance Medical Ministry is a faith-led medical ministry serving the working uninsured in need of affordable health care.
Alliance is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit charitable corporation that is supported through the generous donations from individuals, corporations, congregations and foundations to serve the working uninsured in our community.Alliance Medical Ministry (AMM) is a faith-led non-profit organization whose mission is to serve working uninsured adults of Wake County in need of affordable health care. AMM opened in January 2003, offering a primary care home to patients by operating on a private practice model. The clinic is open from 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM daily, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM on select Saturdays, and provides 24-hour coordination of a patient's medical needs.
Comprehensive, on-site services include chronic and acute medical care, health education, laboratory testing, on-site pharmacy and referrals for specialty care. All services are completely bilingual. 98% of AMM patients have an income below 200% of federal poverty guidelines and pay $15 per primary care visit or $25 per acute care visit, with the remaining paying on a sliding scale. Though the patient fees offset the cost of care, charging patients also encourages them to be engaged in improving their health.
In 2009, Alliance had over 7,000 patients and conducted 10,179 patient visits. In the first half of 2010, Alliance averaged 1,100 patient visits per month with patient volume up 20% over the prior year.
